The Benefits

What window tint does for your vehicle

Real Heat Rejection

XPEL PRIME ceramic films use nano-ceramic technology to reject infrared heat without going dark or distorting visibility. A noticeably cooler cabin in the summer, less work for your A/C, and a more comfortable ride year-round.

UV and Skin Protection

XPEL PRIME blocks over 99% of harmful UV rays. That protects your dashboard, leather, and upholstery from fading and cracking, and protects everyone inside the vehicle from cumulative sun exposure during everyday driving.

Reduced Glare

Cuts harsh sunlight, snow glare, and oncoming headlight reflections. Easier on your eyes during long drives and a noticeable difference for anyone who commutes early morning or late afternoon.

Privacy and a Clean Look

A factory-finished look from the outside, more privacy for what's inside. Choose the shade that fits your vehicle and your style.

Common Questions

Window tinting FAQs

What is the legal tint percentage in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania requires more than 70% visible light transmission (VLT) on the windshield and front side windows for all vehicles. For sedans, the back side windows and rear window also require more than 70% VLT. For SUVs, trucks, vans, and other multi-purpose vehicles, the back side windows and rear window can be any darkness. A small tint strip is allowed on the top three inches of the windshield. We install legal tint by default and will walk you through the rules for your specific vehicle before we start.
How long does a window tint install take?
Most vehicles take 2 to 4 hours for a full install. Larger vehicles, SUVs, and trucks with bigger rear windows may take a little longer. We'll give you a clear time estimate when you bring the vehicle in.
What is the difference between ceramic and dyed window tint?
Ceramic tint, like XPEL PRIME XR PLUS and XR BLACK, uses nano-ceramic particles to block infrared heat and UV rays without using dyes. The result is real heat rejection, long-lasting color stability, and a clearer view from inside the car. Dyed tint, like XPEL PRIME CS BLACK, uses a pigmented film that delivers a clean factory-style appearance, UV protection, and reduced glare at a lower price point. Both are good options. The right one depends on if your priority is maximum heat performance or appearance and budget.
Does window tint actually reduce heat?
Yes, especially ceramic tint. XPEL PRIME ceramic films block a large portion of the sun's infrared heat, the part of the spectrum that makes your cabin feel hot. You'll notice the difference the first time you park in the sun and come back to a noticeably cooler vehicle.
How do I care for window tint after installation?
Wait at least 3 to 5 days before rolling your windows down. That gives the film time to cure. Clean the inside of your glass with a soft microfiber cloth and a non-ammonia glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners and brushes. That's it.
Will my window tint bubble or peel over time?
Properly installed XPEL PRIME film should not bubble, peel, or crack. If it does, that is exactly what the lifetime XPEL warranty covers. The cheaper films you see fail on older cars are usually low-quality dyed films installed without proper prep. We do not install those.
Can you tint a windshield sun strip?
Yes. Pennsylvania allows tint on the top three inches of the windshield. A sun strip cuts overhead glare on long drives and finishes the look of a fully tinted vehicle.
Is window tint covered by a warranty?
Yes. All XPEL PRIME films are backed by a transferable lifetime warranty per XPEL warranty terms covering bubbling, peeling, cracking, discoloration, fading, and delamination. The warranty stays with the vehicle, so it transfers to the next owner if you sell.
Can window tint be removed if I sell the vehicle?
Yes. Window tint can be professionally removed without damaging the glass. Most buyers see good tint as a value-add, so most owners leave it on.
