XPEL Paint Protection Film

Paint Protection Film in Bridgeville, PA

XPEL paint protection film, also called PPF or clear bra, installed on cars, trucks, and SUVs at our shop in Bridgeville. A virtually invisible film that takes the rock chips, road debris, and minor scratches before they touch your paint. Family-owned since 1978.

The Protection

What paint protection film protects against

Rock Chips and Stone Damage

Highway speeds and the gravel that gets kicked up on I-79, Route 19, and the back roads around Western PA chip paint fast. PPF takes the hit. Your paint stays untouched underneath.

Road Debris and Bug Splatter

Bug acid, tar, sap, and bird droppings can etch clear coat in days. PPF creates a barrier that prevents that etching and washes off easily.

Light Scratches and Swirls

XPEL Ultimate Plus uses a self-healing top coat that closes light surface scratches and swirl marks with heat from the sun or warm water. Daily wear-and-tear that would normally show up on bare paint disappears.

UV Fading and Yellowing

PPF blocks UV and resists yellowing over time, keeping protected areas clear and matching the surrounding paint for years.

Common Questions

Paint protection film FAQs

What is paint protection film and how does it work?
Paint protection film, also called PPF or clear bra, is a thick, clear urethane film professionally applied to your vehicle's painted surfaces. It absorbs impacts from rock chips, road debris, and minor scratches before they reach the paint underneath. XPEL Ultimate Plus also includes a self-healing top coat that closes light surface scratches with heat.
What is the difference between PPF and ceramic coating?
They protect against different things. PPF is a physical film that takes impacts like rock chips and road debris. Ceramic coating is a chemical layer that bonds to the paint, repels water, resists chemical contamination, and adds gloss. PPF is the heavyweight for impact protection. Ceramic is the everyday shield for hydrophobic performance and easier washing. A lot of customers do both, with PPF on the leading edges and ceramic on the rest.
Where on the vehicle do you install PPF?
The most common areas are the front bumper, the leading edge of the hood, the full hood, the front fenders, side mirrors, headlights, door cups, door edges, A-pillars, rocker panels, and the luggage area behind the rear wheels. You can also wrap the entire vehicle. We'll walk you through what makes sense for how you drive.
How long does PPF installation take?
Depends on how much of the vehicle you wrap. A partial front is usually a one-day install. A full front is one to two days. A full vehicle wrap is several days. Every install includes proper prep, panel removal where needed, and clean edge work, so the time on the vehicle is real.
Can PPF be removed without damaging the paint?
Yes. Quality films like XPEL are designed to be removed cleanly without damaging the factory paint underneath. That is actually one of the selling points of PPF over time. You can take it off, replace it, or sell the vehicle with the paint underneath in showroom condition.
Is PPF visible after installation?
A properly installed gloss PPF is virtually invisible. You may see the edge if you look closely at certain angles, but at normal viewing distance it disappears. XPEL also makes a satin or matte option (Stealth) for vehicles with matte paint or for owners who want to change the look while protecting the paint at the same time.
What is self-healing PPF?
Self-healing PPF, like XPEL Ultimate Plus, has a special top coat that reflows when exposed to heat. Light scratches and swirl marks that would normally show on bare paint actually disappear on the film when the vehicle sits in the sun or you pour warm water on it. Deeper damage that cuts through the top layer will not heal, but everyday surface wear does.
How do I care for PPF after installation?
Wait about a week before washing the vehicle to let the adhesive fully cure. After that, treat the vehicle the way you would treat any quality paint job. Hand wash or use a touchless car wash. Skip the abrasive brushes. Avoid harsh chemical solvents. That is it.
Is PPF covered by a warranty?
Yes. XPEL Ultimate Plus is backed by a 10-year warranty per XPEL warranty terms, covering yellowing, cracking, blistering, delamination, and staining when properly installed.
Should I get paint correction before PPF?
For new vehicles, often no. For used vehicles or any car with visible swirls, light scratches, or surface defects, yes. PPF locks the paint in place exactly as it sits, so any imperfections under the film stay under the film. A proper paint correction before PPF gives you a finished result that looks better than factory.
